Hey Sony, PlayStation Move Still Needs A Big-Time Killer App

The PlayStation Move hasn't suffered terrible sales. Quite the contrary, in fact. And yet, if it really wants to make any more significant strides, it's going to require a AAA elite killer app, which it has not yet received. For a while, many thought that title could be Sorcery, but while solid and entertaining, it didn't really qualify.

Sony Patents Innovative "Hybrid Separable Motion Controller"

This makes a whole lot of logical sense, doesn't it? We just hope the mechanics of it are sound. It seems Sony might be planning to combine the standard Dual Shock controller with the new motion-sensing PlayStation Move technology. This "Hybrid Separable Motion Controller" has been patented after a filing in May 2011.

Portal 2 'In Motion' DLC coming to PlayStation Move on Tuesday

"In Motion" is a DLC expansion designed for PlayStation Move. It's identical to the Sixense expansion released on PC--only you won't need a $100 motion controller to use it. With the Move, you'll get access to a whole new slew of gameplay options, like stretching boxes and rotating objects. You'll also be able to "portal surf."

Machinarium moves to PS3 next week

Amanita Design's award-winning adventure game is finally making its way to PS3. Originally release on PC in 2009, Machinarium will be available to download next week on the PlayStation Store for $9.99. Described as the "ultimate version" of the game, the PS3 version of the game includes a zoom feature, PlayStation Move support, and sticky hotspots when using a DualShock controller.

Wonderbook coming to PS3 in November, from $40-80

Sony's interactive book experience, first demoed at E3 this year, is coming November 13th. Wonderbook is not so much a game, but an interactive reading experience that uses the PlayStation Eye camera, PlayStation Move controller, and AR-enhanced Wonderbook peripheral. J.K. Rowling's Book of Spells will be the first title in the Wonderbook series.
