Earthbound Finally Due on Virtual Console – In Japan

By Insignia19 on from www.qj.net

Earthbound is one of the greatest RPGs ever made—definitely one of the best of the 16-bit era. Yet, for some reason (legal junk, I think), the game has pretty much been nonexistent in the west since its original launch back in 1995. Sure, you can buy one online, but who has $200 to spare on a SNES game?!

Wii U Virtual Console…did Nintendo get it right?

By triverse on from gamingonnintendo.com

So, as it turns out, Nintendo did announce the Virtual Console for the Wii U during their Nintendo Direct presentation today. NES, SNES, and even GBA titles were discussed. One key item the Wii U VC needed was off tv play on the Gamepad and, thankfully, Nintendo confirmed that this will be available. Unfortunately, this was just about the only thing Nintendo did right with the Wii U VC. Click

Earthbound creator hints at new developments for the series

By fragfrog on from www.igxpro.com

The Earthbound/Mother series is (at least among a certain hardcore contingent) one of Nintendo’s most beloved franchises, but new releases in the series have been few and far between. Thankfully, we may be seeing more of the series soon, as Earthbound’s creator and popular Japanese author Shigesato Itoi dropped a few hints on his Twitter, saying that the series may soon make some sort of comeback

Wii Wiill Miss You – A Salute to the Nintendo Wii « paranerds.com

By ParanerdKevin on from paranerds.com

Since the Wii U has been announced and hopefully the name will be changed (although obviously it won’t since it’s out November 18th, it would still be nice, remember the Nintendo Dolphin became the GameCube, the Nintendo Revolution became the Wii, someone on Nintendo really should go with their first-instincts) the Nintendo Wii has slowly been disappearing into a blip seen in a far off distance.
